Our Story

About Us...

Immanuel Lutheran Church is an LCMS church (Lutheran Church Missouri - Synod).  Lutherans receive their name from the 16th century reformer Martin Luther. The Lutheran Church is the largest Protestant body in the world, and the third largest in the United States.

Our Temple Campus was planted in 1926 with a small gathering of 2-3 like-minded families in the middle of Temple, TX.  Through the years, God has been faithful to strengthen and provide for our church in many ways, through many different changes, building projects, a Christian school, and beyond.  Though we've had many different pastors with different strengths, we have continued to grow spiritually and numerically.

Our Belton Campus was planted in 1978.  In 2012 Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple, TX and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Belton, TX merged to become Immanuel Lutheran Ministries (ILM), so that we could share that good news of Jesus to Bell County (Temple, Belton, and Salado) and beyond.

Where we are headed...

Right now, Immanuel Lutheran Church is meeting and discussing what our Mission and Vision is and our Purpose here in Bell County.

Immanuel Lutheran Church exists to reveal the beauty of the Kingdom of God by sharing the goodness of Jesus with all people. In 2012 Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple, TX and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Belton, TX merged to become Immanuel Lutheran Ministries (ILM), so that we could share that good news of Jesus to the Eastern portion of Bell County (Temple, Belton, and Salado).

No matter who you are or where you’ve been, strangers are family at Immanuel Lutheran. We believe God wants to share the beauty of His Kingdom with you through the goodness of His Son Jesus. Come as you are. You will only find forgiven sinners who are loved by God in our church. Forgiven sinners who have a restored relationship with the Father. Forgiven sinners who are still on their journey of faith. We invite you to join us on that journey!
